Wheel-thrown pieces, inspired by nature…

Vase with eucalyptus leaves, small potted plant with variegated leaves, upside-down mug, and pink flowers in the background, all arranged on a rustic wooden stool.

Based from her shepherd’s hut, nestled between the South Downs and the waters of the Solent on the South Coast of Hampshire, Caz is a ceramic artist whose work is rooted in a deep connection to nature and a love for timeless craftsmanship.

Working primarily with stoneware clay, Caz creates small batches of wheel-thrown ceramics, each piece imbued with its own quiet individuality. Her focus is on functional forms—pieces designed not just to be admired, but to be used, loved, and woven into the rituals of everyday life. There's a gentle, organic sensibility to her work—an ease that reflects her belief in beauty that isn't overworked or overthought.

In addition to wheel-thrown pieces, she also hand-builds functional decorative items, often slab-formed and painted by hand. These feature stylised floral and botanical motifs, many inspired by the ferns, leaves, and blooms from her own garden—a space she nurtures with as much care as her ceramics.

A ceramic artist with a love for the outdoors…

With a background in graphic design and home interiors, Caz discovered her passion for pottery after taking a ceramics course at a local college. What began as a creative curiosity soon became a calling. Drawn to the rhythm and mindfulness of wheel throwing, she spent several years honing her skills through one-to-one lessons before establishing her own home studio.

A keen gardener, Caz draws her colour palette from the natural, muted tones of her surroundings—earthy hues that shift with the seasons. She finishes her work using a combination of glazes, underglazes, engobes, and intricate hand carving, creating pieces that echo the calm and beauty of the rural landscape she calls home.
